Havana Ball

Havana Summer Movie Nights

ay, havana!

There are two kinds of people in this city: Those who really, truly love the great outdoors — and those who pretend they do when asked by out-of-towners. (The three-inch platforms you wore to walk Discovery Park totally gave you away.)

But here’s an open-air activity even you can embrace: outdoor movie nights at Havana.

Every Wednesday this summer, our fave Capitol Hill club turns its parking lot into a theater with free popcorn, cheap Peronis, and DJs. Go tomorrow for Scarface, next week for Dogtown and Z-Boys, or wait until the end for Goodfellas.

They’ve got an Astroturf tiki lounge, plus seating for the first 100 (latecomers should bring their own chairs). Seattle City Light has even agreed to kill the lights, so you can catch Olivia Newton John’s every move in Xanadu.

Just the kind of camp you appreciate.

Havana, 1010 East Pike Street (206-323-2822 or havanasocial.com). Movies are shown Wednesdays, through August 22. Doors open at 9 p.m. Cost: $5.
