Smells Like Tea Spirit

Miro Tea Opens

your cup of tea!

Seattle’s long been known as a city in a serious relationship with a certain beverage. Where early ’90s Matt Dillon lookalikes wear ratty flannel shirts tied at the waist.

But some of us have grown up (even Courtney Love, at least this week) and developed a taste for new libations. And here’s the latest nonjoe enticement: Ballard’s sophisticated new tea bar, Miro Tea.

With a sorghum wall and a reclaimed wood bar, the sleek-but-earthy spot falls in step with our millennium-era city. It officially opened Friday, which means you can be among the first to taste the market-fresh menu and summery ice tea mocktails before word gets out.

Order tea straight up (from more than 60 organic blends) or with a twist (we love the Cosmo Not, with yerba mate, mango, and pomegranate). Then tuck into simple, well-executed dishes like tea-infused berry crepes.

The whole experience is downright heavenly.

You could even call it nirvana.
