You feel the same way about Seattle weather as you do about your little brother: The kid’s a whiny brat, but nobody else can talk smack about him.

But — family member to family member — let’s be honest: dark, soggy winters suck balls.

So let’s hear it for a first herald of spring: Lily + Jae, an unabashedly cheerful line from Vancouver, B.C.

A far cry from fall’s moody colors and shapes, designer Jude Feller’s third collection is all bric-a-brac, seersucker, and country-girl florals. A corseted halter sundress is sweet as apple pie, while denim Wide Garden pants might sound the death knell for your skinnies.

To celebrate L+J’s local debut, Horseshoe is throwing an ice cream social on Saturday.
