Martyr, May I?

The Saint Opens

what a saint!

According to the Vatican, it takes two miracles to achieve sainthood. According to us, said miracles can include:
a) Parting large bodies of water.
b) Reviving the dead.
c) Bestowing an excellent Mexican restaurant and tequila bar upon Capitol Hill.

So it’s no biggie that Quentin Ertel (Havana) skipped the canonization kerfuffle and named his new endeavor The Saint. With a bright turquoise exterior and whitewashed interior, the old sketchy Wing Dome has been utterly reborn.

Framed photos of Mexican matadors line the walls, while 80 types of tequila, a scratch bar, and house-made ingredients make the tiny spot a hot destination. Order dishes like free-range chicken empanadas; butter lettuce salad with jicama, citrus, and avocado; and slow-roasted pork in banana leaf.

Saintly worshipers, take note: Grab a cab so that you can freely partake in the fresh-squeezed juice and tequila cocktails.

Because nobody likes a martyr.
