Vida Spa Opens

livin' la vida dulce!

Winter made you manic and work is giving you Tourette’s. At this point, a handful of meds and a padded room sound dreamy.

Stop living la vida loca and head to Vida, the new spa at 2200 Westlake.

Owned by the same folks behind the spa at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, the facility is a worthy retreat. Bamboo and chiseled limestone decor give it a natural, airy feel, while buttery leather chairs and a flickering fireplace keep it cozy and lend a hint of luxe.

Treatments follow ayurvedic principles, which means they’re tailored to your body type and constitution. We love the ayurvedic massage and cedar steam cabinet: A therapist douses you in warm, sweet-smelling oil before giving you a brisk dry-brush and popping you into a horizontal booth to purge toxins.

What’s more, the spa’s currently offering 90-minute treatments for what you’d normally pay for an hour.

So feel free to go nuts.

Vida Spa, 2200 Westlake Avenue, across from the Pan Pacific Seattle Hotel (206-264-8432 or vidawellness.com).
