Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream Opens

good golly miss molly!

Just the other day, you were thinking, “Jeez, Louise, why doesn’t this town have a great ice cream parlor? One where the milk is organic, the ingredients are local, and the music is as good as its sundaes?”

Funny. Us, too.

Meet you at Molly Moon’s, a charming new artisanal ice cream boutique opening today in Wallingford.

Mosey in below the jaunty galvanized steel sign, swing your feet from repurposed wood stools, and marvel at light fixtures made from milk bottles. Then choose from owner Molly Moon Neitzel’s impressive array of original flavors (Salted Caramel, Thai Iced Tea, Maple Walnut, Mandarin Chocolate Sorbet) and toppings (hot fudge, balsamic reduction) using organic, local ingredients from farms in Carnation, Skagit Valley, and Sequim.

Hit the free opening party tomorrow, with Eric Johnson (Fruit Bats, The Shins) on the decks. And when you’ve had your fill?

Just make like a banana and split.

Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream, 1622½ North 45th Street (206-547-5105 or mollymoonicecream.com). Opening party, Saturday, 3 p.m.
