One Hallava Deal

Hallava Falafel Truck

Your mission when it comes to comestibles (to be sung at the top of your lungs, arms outstretched while twirling):

Climb every mountain,
Search high and low,
Read obscure blog postings,
Don’t be deterred by health department codes.

So follow the sound of contented stomach grumbles and arrive at Hallava Falafel’s bright yellow truck.

After traveling to Moscow and the Mediterranean, owner Rick Baker found Seattle’s lack of authentic falafel and shawarma a major downer. So he created a kitchen on wheels.

The man sure can cook: Pillowy pitas get stuffed with moist falafel, sizzling lamb, or beef — then they’re loaded up with extras like Russian beet relish, zucchini tomato spread, cabbage slaw, sauteed peppers, and homemade tzatziki.

It’s the kind of food that’s equally good whether you’re sober or sloshed.

Making it one of your most favorite things.

Available Friday, 6-10 p.m., outside the 9lb. Hammer, 6009 Airport Way South; Monday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, 4408 Delridge Way Southwest. For more information, go to myspace.com/hallava.
