When we asked Seattle songstress Sera Cahoone how she cures her hangovers, we didn’t mean to imply she was a sot (sorry ’bout that). No, our question was an innocent attempt to alleviate our own condition. But thanks for the tip, Sera.
Her answer plus a few city favorites from our golden-throated local girl below:
What’s your favorite breakfast spot?
Probably the Hi Spot Cafe in Madrona for scrambled eggs with sausage and avocado.
Best actual bar-bar (where you can belly up)?
I don’t go out much, but when I do I tend to go to the Redwood.
What do you order?
Lately it’s been a Stoli Blueberi vodka and soda water with lime. Foofy, I know. It’s good, though!
When you have a hangover what do you do?
Usually complain a lot and sit on the couch. As for a remedy, I go to my coffee shop (Espresso Vivace) and my friend Mary makes me fizzy water with a splash of strawberry lemonade and spritz of orange.
Best sightseeing walk in the city?
Seward Park.
Favorite undiscovered local artist?
Sleepy Eyes of Death. They have an amazing live show — amazing records, too, of course.
With whom (of anyone in town) would you most want to sing a duet?
Megan Jasper (VP of Sub Pop).
What would you sing?
“Delta Dawn.”
What’s your favorite article of clothing?
I’d have to say my belt buckle with a bird on it and my brown boots (old beat up Ropers). I bought the buckle at that little belt kiosk in Pike Place Market.
