Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Open a sushi restaurant, and you’ll have him hooked, lined, and sinkered.
Moshi Moshi Sushi, which opens tomorrow in Ballard, may be a difficult habit to kick. Owners Kevin and Tracy Erickson (Bricco) laced traditional Japanese dining (udon, chirashi, sushi) with Northwest flavors.
Penn Cove oysters with spicy miso cream start the night. Wagyu beef with grilled maitake mushrooms and aged shoyu switches things up. And an aptly named Ballard roll — albacore tuna with ikura and shiso leaf — proves a tasty entree to the sushi menu.
The bar rests beneath an eighteen-foot cherry blossom tree lit by hundreds of LED lights, creating a relaxed atmosphere in which to imbibe sake or wine.
Feed a man fish, he might decide to drink like one.
