Homegrown Sandwich Shop Opens

Since grade school, you and your bestie have been like peanut butter and jelly.

Then things changed, and now you’re more like chicken confit and lavender pear butter on fresh country bread. Or sweet potato black-eyed pea cakes with tomato jam.

And Homegrown in Fremont is the best thing to happen to your relationship since sliced bread. The new sustainable sandwich shop is great for catching up over crab cake, bacon, and avo on brioche or tried-and-true Reubens.

Homegrown aims to keep things organic and source from nearby providers like Beecher’s, Boulangerie Nantaise, and Pike Brewery. Decor was culled from salvage yards, including tabletops made from Cedar Crest High’s former basketball floor (neato!).

Treating your pal to lunch may be spreading it on a bit thick.

But crust is the foundation of any good friendship.
