You Say You Want a Revolution

Bastille Cafe & Bar Opens

A tyrannical boss, low-carb diet, and confinement in a cubicle are bringing about your own reign of terror.

Storm Bastille: a new Francophile cafe in Ballard.

With French cathedral light fixtures, custom zinc bar, vintage clock from the famous Les Puces, and metal beams recalling Orsay, Bastille’s interior transports diners to its homeland.

So do dishes like salade de toit (harvested from the rooftop garden), roasted halibut Grenobloise, juicy rotisserie chicken, or steak frites with a house béarnaise sauce.

To-go falafels, frites, and boulangerie-style sandwiches are offered from a side window by the outdoor patio, while in the back room bar, reproductions of Pierre Puvis de Chavannes’s paintings hang alongside a large crystal chandelier attached to a church buttress.

It’s really something to lose your head over.
