C'mon, Get Hoppy

Growlers at Fremont Brewing Company

fremont brewing company!

Beer doesn’t usually fuel responsible decisions (to wit: that $20 you dropped on pull tabs).

But beer summits have become diplomatic de rigueur. Don’t bottle up your opinions. Spill them over a growler (half-gallon glass jug) from Fremont Brewing Company.

The new brewery has its own strong stance on the environment. All solid waste from grains is processed by neighboring tenant Blue Marble Energy and used for power. Pumps are energy efficient, as are the lights. And the company is working with the city to initiate a sustainability rebate for small businesses.

Currently the refreshing flagship pale ale is the only brew available. But an upcoming IPA and a Washington organic fruit one-off — both made using organic barley from BC — are sure things.

Put your money where your mouth is.

Purchase a growler or drop by the Urban Beer Garden Thursdays and Fridays, 4-8 p.m., at Fremont Brewing Company, 3409 Woodland Park Avenue North (206-420-2407 or fremontbrewing.com). But wait!! Due to Hop Fest, the brewery will be closed this Friday.
