Life is tough.

But even if you’re a downtrodden inner-city gang member lusting after a sequestered socialite who is betrothed to a rival gang leader who happens to be your long-lost half brother, there’s reason to dance.

Gather your posse, turn on something up-tempo, and express yourself Bollywood style.

Blue Lotus’s intensive fast-paced courses focus on the traditional Indian Kathak dance method. The Russian-trained but globe-gallivanting Nalini Karimova (she tours with a professional dance troupe) explains the essential foot moves, hip swivels, and wrist pops, as well as the story and heritage behind the lyrics.

Drop-ins are welcome every Wednesday, and five-week sessions are available for true enthusiasts.
