Shimmer Beauty Bar Opens

Being a regular at the pub has its benefits (your drink is on repeat order, you’ve learned to avoid chatty Kathy) and liabilities (that one-night stand, those dark circles under your eyes).

Luckily, the Duque folks have opened Shimmer Beauty Bar in Ballard, a prettier alternative to your favorite dive. Get drunk on the girly atmosphere of pink paint, black decals, and a smattering of crystal chandeliers in the sliver of a space that was last Pulp Lab.

Waxing and eyelash extensions both happen in a chic, secluded upstairs loft. Jurlique, GloMinerals, and Julie Hewett cosmetics are on hand for play or purchase. Cosmetic applications like Loud Mouth and Cheeky Attitude include instruction so you can DIY.

Through November 20, a makeup and eyelash application is just $20. And Shimmer expects to have a liquor license by New Year’s.
