The Deli Case of Double Identity
The door opened, and in ankled a pair of pins. His eyes followed them up to the pretty puss of Suspect Number 1. What a tomato.
“Let’s cut to the chase,” he growled. “Where were you yesterday afternoon?”
“My alibi’s foolproof,” she hissed. “I was at Avila, the new Wallingford deli that serves house-made patés, cured meats, cheeses, and sammies like corned beef on a kaiser and liverwurst on potato bread. Plus authentic New York egg creams and lemon ricotta blintzes for dessert.”
He had her. “They’re not open for lunch yet. For now, dinner is a formal affair,” he grinned. “Shame a dame like you missed out on Moroccan-spiced crispy skate wing, albacore tuna with sweetbreads, and pot roast with sweet potato pie.”
She sighed, defeated. “You don’t have to be such a dick.”

Amazing food. Go try the gnocchi with crab and bread crumbs. Plus they have Lagunitas IPA on tap. Top notch local ingredients served in a medieval manner. Lamb cooked in hay( serioulsy- they light the hay on fire for a nice char) and they make all their own sausages and pates. Where has this place been?
