If you’ve screamed once for ice cream, you’ve screamed a thousand times. Your freezer’s still empty.
But if you hit the right note, Parfait will come straight to you. Seattle’s only small-batch, from-scratch, all-organic artisan ice cream truck makes house calls to satisfy your loudest sweet tooth.
Flavors rotate seasonally (with a couple of perennial favorites), but a few deserve a special shout-out, namely fleur de caramel, chocolate, Meyer lemon, and Ballard Bee honey. Winter called for orange star anise, Earl Grey tea, and cinnamon; summer’s bound to bring berries.
Chef/owner Adria Shimada prepares her own custard base with local milk, cream, sugar, and eggs, adding fine ingredients like Fiore coffee, fair trade chocolate, homemade peanut butter cups, or Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans.
Which is what the adult in you has been clamoring for.
Available online at parfait-icecream.com. Place orders on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday by midnight for next-day delivery between 6 and 9 p.m. to Ballard, Belltown, Capitol Hill, Greenlake, Madrona, Magnolia, Queen Anne, and Wallingford (more neighborhoods to come). For flavor updates, check the Twitter feed.
