have a sleepover!

Sweet Home Away from Home

Stonehurst Place B&B Opens

Everybody loves a sleepover. Waffles are nearly guaranteed. And how better to judge people than by their books and furnishings?

Get ready to set a higher bar at new Stonehurst Place. Owner Barb Shadomy’s London design schooling stands front and center at the city’s first EarthCraft-certified B&B.

The five rooms are appointed with touches of art deco and art nouveau glamour, multihead showers and soaking tubs, and working gas fireplaces.

If that doesn’t impress you, the china cabinet in the reception room will. It’s filled with vintage Hermès bags. And original Warhol sketches and photos hang on the walls.

Two parlors are stocked with wine, liquor, chilled mixers, juices, and sparkling water. And they do a mean tea service and breakfast omelet.

Or waffle. All you have to do is ask.

Stonehurst Place, 923 Piedmont Avenue NE, Midtown (404-881-0722 or stonehurstplace.com).

she'll work your feet!

Happy Feet

Home Reflexologist Karina Timmel

She’s perky. With red hair. And freakishly powerful little hands.

No, not Shelly O’Drunkagain, the lass bogarting the green beer on St. Patty’s. It’s Karina Timmel, the writer/editor by day, home reflexologist by night, who’s now making evening and weekend house calls.

Timmel arrives with her setup — reclining chair; sweet soy, rose, and jasmine massage oils; and lavender aromatherapy neck pillow — to get you in the mood for healing. You just sit back, relax, and tell her where it hurts.

Your neck? Your back? Your neck and back? She’ll work your foot-based meridians, toes, and ankles (about 25 minutes for each foot), then knead and pulse those gorgeous lower gams.

The coolest part: Timmel never has to reach above your knees to calm all-over body ailments like lung congestion, headaches, and tuckered muscles. She can fix it all from your lower bits.

Prepare to thank your lucky charms.

Rejuvenate Spas Sleep Pods and Power Nap Suites

You’ve done it on planes, trains, and automobiles more times than you care to admit.

Tsk, tsk. Gotta pay up sometime. And now that Rejuvenate Spas has opened the city’s first sleep pod service, you can.

The new Suntrust Plaza spa caters to the all-work, no-play set with private napping capsules, rented by the minute, with a twenty-minute minimum.

For a power nap, kick up your heels in a basic energy pod. Two minutes before wake-up, gentle vibrations and a realigning tilt nudge you out of la-la land. Or sleep tighter — and longer — in a primium relaxation Alpha chamber equipped with CD player, dry heat, and cool air. Top that off with aromatherapy and you’ve got one salacious sleep pod experience on your hands.

Hold the drool.

Rejuvenate at the Gardens, 303 Peachtree Center Avenue, suite al-112, Downtown (404-577-4877 or rejuvenatespas.com).
