So Vera Nice

Vera Fitness Opens

Dear Gym,

So this thing we’ve got going on? It’s just not working out (literally). It was fun while it lasted, but I need way more space. And, truth is, I’ve found something else.

It’s called Vera Fitness. The new Greenlake women’s wellness studio offers me things I’ve only dreamed of — like $40 personal training sessions, female-focused workouts that combine cardio, flexibility, and Kinesis strength training, all in an airy, ecoconscious space.

It doesn’t have your intimacy issues and, to be honest, it smells better. It even has a genius online system that creates a nutrition plan and tracks my progress both in and out of the studio. I know you’re thinking it won’t last, but you’re wrong — things are looking good already.

And for the record, it’s not me.

It’s you.

Name Your Source

Source Salon & Spa

Persons close to the subject say she began to radiate confidence several days ago. Others report it was actually her hair, nails, and skin that were aglow.

Eyewitnesses saw the subject leave new Source Salon & Spa in Ballard.

As of yet, there’s been no confirmation of which services were rendered: The sleek and minimal but ultimately cozy Source has an extensive spa menu. But there’s little doubt that the subject in question benefited from deep thermal therapy — perhaps paired with a signature massage. Waxing, makeup application (using True mineral products), and affordable manicures are all available.

The hair menu includes treatments for rebalancing, detoxifying, and nourishing with the Italian line Davines. And the salon uses Kevin Murphy organic and vegan hair products.

Sources say beauty comes from within these doors.

We’ve got that on the record.

Fool House

Stylus Salon and Spa Opens

One roomie put Saran Wrap on the toilet. The other switched your straightening balm for lube. Sis called to say your ex is getting married, then Dad claimed that Buster ran away.

Pity the poor sap on April Fools’ Day.

Schedule some recovery time at Stylus, Robert Middleton and Jesus Ezcabar’s softly opened Belltown salon and spa.

A veteran of Gary Manuel, Halo, and Red, Middleton has been around the beauty block. His first solo venture doesn’t skimp on drama, with sleek walnut floors, a water wall, cloud-like treatment beds, and twinkling chandeliers.

Stylists specialize in grown-up “pretty hair,” while aestheticians stick to organic, paraben-free products by Kimberly Sayer, Susan Posnick, and Kevin Murphy. So you can have things just the way you like them.

Straight up.

Stylus Salon and Spa, 2321 Second Avenue, between Bell and Battery Streets (206-789-5871).
