What do Leonardo DiCaprio and our ring finger have in common? Unfortunately, it’s not a diamond.
Using easy-to-find graphic paper and a little know-how, we put his face — and the rest of the Best Actor/Actress Oscar nominees’ — on our phalanges. In this Pretty Smart video, we show you the trick.
Not so keen on having Hollywood’s who’s who at your fingertips? Don’t worry: The how-to works for any photo. One of our editors did memes (Grumpy Cat got a thumbs-up); another did emojis. The possibilities are endless.
Just like our love for Leo.

Tomorrow, it will be inappropriate if you don’t stuff your face with piles of food, wear elastic-waist pants, take a nap, and pick at leftovers around midnight.
Ensure you look good doing it with this metallic eye DIY, as taught to us by Pixi Beauty international makeup artist Amanda Bell.
We like it because it’s not as in your face as a smoky eye (it gives just a subtle glow) and takes only about five minutes. We use Pixi Beauty products in the video, but you can use whatever metallic shades you have at home.
Anything to draw attention away from your pumpkin pie baby.

How is it that Rafa can play a grueling three-and-a-half-hour match on Monday and walk directly out of it looking like someone we’d like to marry?
We’ll skip to the short answer: his hair. Which is why, for today’s video, we went to the stylist who gave him those locks, Julien Farel, to see if he could bestow the same sweat-proof allure on our beauty editor, Jennifer Jackson.
Farel, who has been the official U.S. Open stylist for seven years (his pop-up salon is next to the player’s gym at Arthur Ashe), opts for a braided ponytail with minimal product. We adore the guaranteed-to-stay-put look.
You might even call it love.

In an informal editors’ poll on which one type of makeup they’d take to a deserted island, concealer, bronzer, and mascara topped the list. Eyeliner/shadow was nowhere to be found.
Until now. Ever since Pixi makeup artist Amanda Bell showed us how to do a subdued, bronzed smoky eye, we feel naked without it.
The look doesn’t scream “I’m going to da club”; it’s versatile enough for pretty much anything (we like it for summer, but we’ll definitely wear it into winter). Even better, it takes only a thin pencil, a thick one, a blending brush, mascara, and about two minutes.
We think you’ll find it indispensable.

Between the chlorine and UV rays, summer can do a number on your hair and skin. That’s why, in today’s video, SuChin has a DIY protectant for your strands and a facial in a jar. As a bonus, she’s got a chemical-free mouthwash that you won’t want to kiss without.

Cosmetics can hold transformative power (see: any thousand-page slide show of celebs without makeup).
In today’s Pretty Smart video, Jenine Pizza, brand manager at Beauty Addicts, teaches our beauty editor, Jennifer Jackson, basic methods of contouring (a.k.a. using makeup to enhance your bone structure). All you need is bronzer and foundation to achieve a more defined jawline, slimmer nose, and higher cheekbones.
The best part? It takes about a minute max. The results are noticeable, but not over the top (read: no foundation chin straps here).
Getting stared down never felt so good.
