In your world, there is always something brewing.
The same goes for Washington natives Brandon Skall and Jeff Hancock, who are running the first full-production beer label to open in the city in 50 years.
DC Brau uses only local water and ingredients for its cans and kegs. The first line — a very hoppy Public Ale — is on tap right now. Keep an eye out for the soon-to-arrive Corruption IPA (with a hint of citrus) and The Citizen, a Belgian-style beer (with lots of fruity notes). Seasonal and specialty brews to follow.
Visit Meridian Pint to get your suds on; then plan to pick up a six-pack at local shops in a couple of weeks. In the future, the boys are hoping to offer brewery tours and tastings.
Here’s to that.
Get your first sip at Meridian Pint, 3400 11th Street Northwest, at Park Road (202-588-1075); The Big Hunt, 1345 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, at 18th Street (202-785-2333); Birch & Barley and ChurchKey, 1337 14th Street Northwest, between N Street and Rhode Island Avenue (202-567-2576).
