You wouldn’t memorialize your garbage by displaying it around the house (though that takeout carton has been sitting on your coffee table for a while now).
But you will want to fill the place with Middle Kingdom’s Bottle series of porcelain vases. The D.C.-based design studio has partnered with Dutch designer Foekje Fleur van Duin to create a collection of ceramic containers molded from everyday trash, salvaged from Rotterdam canals and Holland beaches.
Names like Palmolive, Motor Oil, and Yoghurt indicate what inspired each shape (available in matte green, blue, red, orange, pink, and yellow).
Arrange them on your mantel or run them along your dining room table; display them alone or fill them with flowers.
One man’s trash is now your treasure.
