The indie music fest is just two days away, and it’s time to start planning — and prioritizing. With so many amazing acts lined up, we went straight to the bands themselves, starting with our fave, Twin Sister, to ask about this year’s must-hears.
DailyCandy music aficionado Steph Almazan on Twin Sister: “Ever since I heard Andrea Estella’s soothing vocals backed by dreamy indie pop, I’ve been spellbound.”
Hear: “All Around and Away We Go,” (Sunday, 2:50 p.m.)
Dev Gupta from Twin Sister on Currensy: “Don’t know too much about him, which is why I want to check him out.”
Hear: “Elevator Musik,” (Friday, 5:30 p.m.)
And on The Dismemberment Plan: “Emergency & I is still an amazing album. I hope Travis Morrison works modern-day R&B jams into the songs like he used to.”
Hear: “Spider in the Snow,” (Saturday, 6:15 p.m.)
Currensy on OFWGKTA: “No song in particular. I’m super excited about their entire set.”
Hear: “She,” (Sunday, 3:20 p.m.)
Eric Axelson from The Dismemberment Plan on Battles: “I’ve seen most of their old bands a few times and can only imagine the force of nature on stage now.”
Hear: “Atlas,” (Friday, 4:35 p.m.)
And on Twin Shadow: “We’ve known George for years, but I haven’t had a chance to see Twin Shadow, even though he seems to be blowing up this year. I gotta admit — I don’t know the songs, just the man. Very excited.”

Dave Konopka from Battles on Gang Gang Dance: “They are a really excellent band. My song pick would have to be ‘Glass Jar’ from their new album. So good.”

Twin Shadow on Health: “It’s been a long time since I’ve been so impressed with the way a music video fits a song. The video for ‘We Are Water’ is everything I had hoped for and more.”

Health on Off: “I heard like 30 seconds of an Off song once, but it sounded like old Black Flag. So that’s why I wanna see ’em.”
Hear: “Upside Down,” (Saturday, 4:45 p.m.)
Dimitri Coats from Off on Deerhunter: “The mood of Deerhunter expands on Sonic Youth’s more melodic moments. A beautiful and well-crafted haunting through the psychic heart.”
Hear: “Nothing Ever Happened,” (Sunday, 6:15 p.m.)
