The Karen Mary Co. Marshmallows Get Around

Up a Tower, on a Burger, in Your Tea

the karen mary co. marshmallows!

It’s a marshmallow world, little sweetheart,
As the DC roller derby girls skim the ground.
At the matches each day, they sell these fluffy treats, they say,
But now you can order them, so there’s no waiting around.

Not quite the old-fashioned, commercial version, but neither are The Karen Mary Co.’s handmade marshmallows.

Originally sold at DC Rollergirls derby bouts by chief confectioner Ryan Eakes (who is married to roller girl Karen Mary, a.k.a. Obitchuary), the preservative-free treats are making their way across town and onto the Interweb.

Bag flavors like strawberry, vanilla, and toasted coconut, or opt for the adult versions with amaretto. Fall brings seasonal bites like pumpkin and eggnog.

Use them to upgrade your s’mores, serve the chocolate-covered caramel and sea salt for dessert, order a tower for a party, or put the beer-flavored one on a burger with some onions and grill.

As they say, it’s a yum-yummy world.

Available at The Chocolate Moose 1743 L Street Northwest, between Connecticut Avenue and 18th Street (202-463-0992 or chocolatemoosedc.com); online at karenmaryco.com, $8.25 per bag.
