Your small wonder was born with brains and looks. (Don’t hit the tree on your way down, apple.)
See how creativity also comes naturally at Beauty & Brawn Art Gallery and Think Space. The just-opened Logan Square spot hosts art exhibits and classes for kids as young as 3. Owner Lindsey Meyers, a mixed-media artist and mom, has an organic, go-with-the-flow approach and stirs kids to seek inspiration from their urban surroundings.
Sessions include It’s a Beautiful Day in My Neighborhood, during which kids explore the idea of community by taking walks and incorporating found objects into art projects. Mishmosh: Mixed Media is a session that encourages artists-in-training to mix texture, color, and shape. In Mommy & Matisse and Daddy & Degas, they’re coached to paint or draw in the styles of famous painters.
The magic happens in an art deco-style salon with black cast-iron chandeliers, a communal farm table, and white taffeta curtains.
It’s a born winner.
