We’ve never been taught an effective defense against the dark arts.
So when local artist-cum-sorceress Valerie Chavez entranced us with Valerian, her addictive line of minimalist accessories and beauty products, we fell for it hook, line, and cauldron.
First, exfoliate your body with her sea salt scrub (made from San Francisco Bay salt) and anoint old wounds with beeswax salve. To make blood boil, splash her earthy, androgynous perfume on the neck and wrists.
Next, add two drops of hammered brass hoops to the ears (or substitute tiny silver studs, pounded to incite immediate emotion). Since love should be eternal, mix in the Infinity necklace with its hammered brass circle and vintage copper bead on gunmetal chain for prosperity.
You’ll be charmed, we’re sure.
