Let’s commiserate over a shared dish of fried black cod and chips at newly opened Glover Park gastropub Mayfair & Pine.
Executive chef/owner Emily Sprissler and her chef de cuisine/husband Jason Cote have married their love of British and California cuisines.
The resulting menu skews hearty (beef Wellington nuggets, eggy mushrooms on toast, shepherd’s pie) with a dash of daring (a dressing made from melted cinnamon candies tops the apple salad). We’re sizing up the open-faced turkey sandwich that creatively substitutes stuffing for bread.
Not this time, though. We predict an all-around winner.
