You skipped a semester of college to follow My Morning Jacket before a love of high thread counts (and showering) got the better of you. Now groupies with a taste for the good life are in for a treat.
Chef Cathal Armstrong and mixologist Todd Thrasher have opened a second location of Eamonn’s with one dynamite addition: a twenty-seat bar named TNT.
Located on the ground floor of Penrose Square apartments, the resto-bar has a rock-and-roll feel. Graffiti and concert posters cling to walls; church pews with blue velvet cushions provide extra seating.
Graze on flash-fried cod, batter-covered Wurly burgers, and shepherd’s pie before easing into old (drinking) habits. Live on the edge with The Cocktail Left on the Nightstand (smoked and charred Jack Daniel’s, flat Coke, and water) or play it safe with hits from top spirits slinger Jim Meehan.
They’ll add lunch once night service runs smoothly. Until then, party late and sleep in your own bed.
Eamonn’s a Dublin Chipper & Bar TNT, 2413 Columbia Pike, between South Adams and South Barton Streets, Arlington (703-920-0315).
