Get Crafty at Paperish Mess

The art of the matter

paperish mess!

Trolling Etsy is fun.

Touching it is better.

Do both at Paperish Mess, a new West Town shop that serves as a brick-and-mortar home to 50-plus independent designers and artists.

For owners Lisa Muscato and Sean Murty (both artists themselves), the store is a ten-year dream realized. Murty built or repurposed every quirky, functional fixture (an old Chinese checkerboard serves as a jewelry stand, stationery sits atop a worn ladder); Muscato, an experienced art curator, manages the merchandise.

Peruse art prints and cards from Hello Sleepywhale, brightly painted trophies and reclaimed wall art from Iamhome, Nani and Lili onesies, Alewyfe soap, Ashley Sullivan embroidered necklaces, Ilmostro robot banks, and other wares from near and far.

A back area will eventually set the stage for musicians, exhibits, movie screenings, and workshops.

Home is where the art is.
