Missed the boat to St. Barts over the holidays? Don’t sweat it.
For a taste of island life, hop to Hogo, a hidden, rum-filled getaway where a portrait of Bill Murray in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou marks the front door.
Seek refuge inside the dimly lit space with a glass of owner/barman Tom Brown’s punch — a swizzle of El Dorado White and Cruzan Black Strap rums with clove-scented falernum, ginger liqueur, grated nutmeg, and lime. Move on to a classic like a Singapore Sling or group-pleasing scorpion bowl served in vintage tiki ware.
Hungry? Grab a table or hop a stool at Temporary Works, the diner-style pop-up kitchen in back. Tuck into a brick of Spam musubi, share a plate lunch of Kahlua pork, or slurp miso saimin (a Hawaiian noodle soup dish) — at least for now. The menu changes with each guest chef.
Go (coco)nuts.
