Cause an Uproar in GiantLion

Sculptural brass necklaces, memory rings, and more

In local news: Our interest was piqued when we heard Rusty the red panda skipped zoo curfew.

But once we caught sight of GiantLion jewelry, we went wild.

Designer Caroline Whittington makes each feminine piece in her Centreville, Virginia home studio. Playing with volume, she elongates crosses and scales down embellishments such as skulls and shark teeth. Our current obsession is the double brass hoop necklace, a crescent moon that smiles at the collarbone.

Pyrite cube studs are small enough (ten millimeters) to be office-appropriate; no two are identical. Layer flat disc and slim triangle rings. Then add a small, fine memory ring — it rests over your first knuckle to give your look a delicate yet edgy aesthetic.

Each piece comes in at $140 or less.

Go get ’em, tiger.

Available at shopanthom.com and etsy.com, $28-$140.
