Childish Things

No matter how much time passes, it’s still hard to comprehend that Mom chucked all her old gear.

Give her a break. How was she to know that conch belt was going to be “vintage” one day? It can be hard to tell what’s worth the storage space.

Here to make it easier: Infantile, the boutique brand from San Francisco that broke onto the kids clothing scene last year. They’ve just introduced a new group of designs from contemporary artists. Joining the works of Maya Hayuk, Dave Kinsey, and Phil Frost are contributions from Don Clark, Brett Critchlow, and tattoo artist Scott Sylvia. In addition to cutesy flowers and little birdies, the designers (mostly moms and dads themselves) offer highly stylized yet baby-friendly imagery inspired by graffiti and ink.

So when that trend hits again in 30 years, you’ll already have super-cool hand-me-downs.

Smart family planning.
