Lexicon XVI

DailyCandy’s Food Lexicon

Eating. We all gotta do it. (Okay, not you, Nicole Richie.)

So, for DailyCandy’s first Washington, D.C., Lexicon, we dedicate the first of many to a subject on everyone’s mind this holiday season: food.

Carb bomb n. An assortment of fresh breads served before breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Crapas n. One of the many bad versions of the “small plates” craze.

Ickymaki n. A frightening sushi offering.

Lauriolpalozza n. The insane time between 5 and 11 p.m. on Friday night when everyone drinks 800 margaritas and gets wasted waiting for a table at Lauriol Plaza (or any popular restaurant).

Martyrini n. A drink ordered after a particularly bad day.

Sinabler n. Someone who’s a bad influence on your diet. (“Wanna split the fries?”)

Soy Capitan n. Someone who substitutes soy for all normal foods (see also: Seitan Worshiper).
