Hear that? It’s the tune of 2006. Before we dive in, a shout-out to our favorites from 2005. Feel free to hum along.

In the world of high-end goods, the word “used” is never, well, used.

The preferred term is “preowned” or “vintage,” thank you.

Luckily, you won’t even be tempted to refer to the wares at Inga’s Once Is Not Enough as anything but fabulous. The consignment shop sells only serious designer items in top-notch condition. Christian Lacroix, Givenchy, Vivienne Westwood, Manolo Blahnik, Hermès, Alberta Ferretti, Bruno Magli, Dolce & Gabbana, Blumarine, Ungaro, Alaia: The list is endless (as is the stock).

Where does it all come from? The closets of Washington’s most well-heeled decision makers and international jet-setters, of course. Whether it’s to unload last season’s Chanel or pick up a little Valentino for tomorrow’s gala, their first stop is the flawlessly elegant and ever charming Inga, who’s always there to help find the perfect thing. So you’re sure to leave with something pretty and new.

Well, new to you, anyway.

Inga’s Once Is Not Enough, 4830 MacArthur Boulevard NW, between U Street and 48th Place (202-337-3072).
