Old 97’s, OK Corral, guerilla warfare.
What do all these things have in common? Nothing. They just spring to mind when we think about OK47, a cool new clothing line out of Toronto.
Then again, the collection has a knack for bringing together unusual elements: Though the pieces are often decorated with items from nature (leaves, trees, birds), the overall feel is edgy and street-smart, thanks to the savvy cuts and splashy colors.
A wrap skirt is printed with tiny pine trees and tents in circles to give a camping-themed polka dot effect. And a bird in flight silhouetted against a green background on a dress has a decidedly pop art look.
The results are so unusual, you may find yourself grasping for random words to describe it.
And that’s a-okay.
