Ever notice how there are no albums called Straight Outta Tenleytown? No band called the Judiciary Square People?
Folks in these parts just don’t seem to take the same pride in their neighborhoods as those in other towns.
But that can change — with the ’hood-celebrating shirts from DistrictTees.
The local company offers all manner of proud-to-live-here shirts. Get a tee with the bars and stars of the city flag that says “Van Ness,” a baseball top that reads “Shaw,” or a hoodie that exclaims “Capitol Hill.” There are plenty of neighborhoods to choose from (though the selection is a little NW heavy).
And you can further show your resident status with a shirt that says “Transient” or “Lifer.”
Or just go straight for the “I mugged Marion Barry and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.”
If that doesn’t show your civic pride, nothing will.
