Once upon a time, in a land called Drama, there was a beautiful queen.
One day, from a tower of the queen’s castle in the province of Histrionia, her subjects heard a mournful wail.
“Where, oh where, shall I find a wardrobe suited to my unique and delicate sensibilities?” She lamented, wringing her hands (carefully, so as not to disturb the fresh coat of Viva Glam).
A designer named Scott Gibson stepped forward, proclaiming, “Your Highness, I think I have just the thing.” Thereupon, the costume designer (he works on dance productions and off-Broadway performances) unveiled a line of bold clothing, full of dramatic cuts and oversize elements sure to suit his monarch’s bold personality.
And indeed, the queen thrilled to the sight of the cowl-neck top’s extra-deep drape, the dress with exaggerated puff sleeves and a nipped-in waist, and the skirt with rows of razor-sharp pleats.
Upon learning that each piece was hand-created from materials like taffeta and Hanro cotton, the queen promptly knighted Sir Scott and invited him to move into her castle.
And they lived dramatically ever after.
