Being a big sister is generally all clothes sharing and ropes showing. You demonstrate how it’s done, she follows your every move and worships the ground you walk on.

But every now and then, lil sis gets ideas of her own. (Admit it: She found Loeffler Randall first.)

Sort of like Sister, the second line from Paul & Joe. The range of jackets, tops, sweaters, and dresses have sweet, childlike elements and silhouettes. But its elegant simplicity and sophisticated colors keep things grown-up.

An extra-long mint and gray Litz sweater combines sexy (try them over jeans) with cheery (thanks to stripes and two front pockets). The brown Houx knit could be worn to work yet still manages lighthearted charm with its delicate pinafore front. And the charcoal Chopin cardigan looks like it could belong to a Parisian schoolgirl — or Catherine Denueve.

It’s like a younger, more accessible version of the original — just as lovable, reminiscent of its older sib yet with a style all its own.
