Day of Design

Look at you: Not a hair out of place, skin that glows, and a full ensemble from head to toe. But — revelation of revelations — you’ve just realized what matters most is on the inside.

The inside of your house, that is.

Head to Cady’s Alley for the first ever Day of Design, a daylong event of workshops, lectures, and demos by (and for) people obsessed with chairs, couches, cabinets, wallpaper, and all things decorating.

Stop by Contemporaria for presentations on Italian furniture (and cheese and wine). Pop into Artefacto for the unveiling of their new Brazilian furnishings line (and caipirinhas). Take in a discussion on paint and color trends at Random Harvest Studio (with color-coordinated cocktails — cute).

The other spots, like Adlon, Thos. Moser, Illuminations, and the brand new M2L, are all serving up their own flavors of style tips. Just be careful not to overimbibe. You’ll want to remember the pointers in the morning.

You know, so you’ve got the inside track.

Day of Design, Cady’s Alley and M Street NW, between 33rd Street and Key Bridge. Saturday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m
