Club Scene

The Cacao Tree

You’ve never had much luck with clubs.

The not-so-secret “Girls Keep Out” tree house was off limits. Your Girl Scout sash was revoked after the Thin Mints laundering incident. As for Key Club, you never understood what they did anyway.

But here’s an organization you can really get behind: Cacao Tree’s Chocolate of the Month Club. Owner and chocolatier Sandra Escobar ditched her government job to answer her calling (and your prayers) — creating handmade artisanal truffles and confections and delivering them right to your door. She infuses her chocolates with all-natural flavors like vanilla liqueur, fresh bananas, and coconut.

Joining is as easy as signing up online. You’ll get to try new flavors before they’re available to everyone else. (Membership really does have its privileges.)

Still gun-shy about committing to a club? Okay. You can order Escobar’s chocolates a la carte.

No hazing or kumbaya required.
