Three of a Kind

You start each day with a little NPR. Can’t get enough TLC. And often make people LOL.

Three-letter combos really speak to you.

But none so much as BLT. Not the sandwich — BLT Steak, the new restaurant from Laurent Tourondel.

Tomorrow, the chef opens a D.C. outpost of his much-loved New York joint. And though bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes do have a place on the menu, it’s not in the traditional sense: They come as grilled, double-cut smoked bacon; lobster salads; and roasted tomatoes.

The dishes, as the name implies, are mostly carnivore-friendly. Choose from rib eyes, filets, Kobe skirt steaks, and veal chops — all of which can be customized with sauces like peppercorn, red wine, or blue cheese. Those who shun meat can feast on crab cakes, Parmesan gnocchi, and treats from the raw bar.

The space is warm and welcoming, with plenty of tables and a long bar.

So saddle up and ask for an MGD while you wait.
