Toss the Bouquet

DIY Flower Arrangements

It seems like you’ve been waiting an awfully long time for a special someone to show up at your apartment, office, or, heck, bus stop with a big bouquet of flowers. Quit moping and take matters into your own hands with a DIY flower project courtesy of Laura Dowling from Intérieurs et Fleurs.

Fleur Poseur

What you’ll need:
1 sheet red wrapping paper
1 bag Hershey’s Kisses (with pink or red foil)
12-15 red roses
2 stems fuchsia orchids
gold or pink floral wire
1 4x4 glass cube vase
1 brick floral foam (that green spongy stuff) soaked in water
glue gun and extra glue sticks

Instructions:
1. Cover vase with paper, using tape as needed.
2. Glue kisses onto paper-covered vase in neat rows.
3. Cut floral foam to correct size and insert into vase.
4. Cut roses so that stems are 2-3 inches long. Stick roses into the foam at angles to create a dense ball.
5. Cut a long strand of wire and detach orchids from their stems. String the wire from the center of the orchid blossoms to create a garland.
6. Drape the garland loosely around the roses.

Fleur Demure

What you’ll need:
1 sheet pink wrapping paper
1 bag candy conversation hearts
10 stems of yellow, pink, and white spray roses
1-2 bunches nerine lilies
pastel ribbon
wired floral picks
1 4x4 glass cube vase
1 brick floral foam (that green spongy stuff) soaked in water
glue gun and extra glue sticks

Instructions:
1. Cover vase with paper, using tape as needed.
2. Glue candy hearts to paper-covered vase in random, overlapping pattern.
3. Cut floral foam to correct size and insert into vase.
4. Cut roses so stems are 2-3 inches long. Stick roses into the foam at angles to create a dense ball.
5. Add lilies randomly throughout the roses.
6. Tie ribbons into bows and attach to wired floral picks. Insert in bouquet.

So easy. And a lot quicker than waiting for someone to do it for you.
