Bake Off

Paula’s Parisian Pastries Cooking School

You’ve perfected the Magnolia Bakery cupcake recipe. And served them at every shindig you’ve attended for the past three years. Enough already.

Find freedom with help from Paula Shoyer, of Paula’s Parisian Pastries Cooking School, who offers baking lessons in her own kitchen.

Shoyer, a professionally trained chef and cookbook editor, teaches people how easy baking can be. Students of every level are welcome and, since classes are participation based, you get to take home what you make.

Prescheduled courses include Introduction to Baking, French Layer Cakes, and Challah and Babka Workshop. Or get a group together and customize your own program. Past examples: Just Chocolate (mousse meringue cookies, flourless chocolate cake, truffles), Quick Desserts (plum tarts, crumbles, one-bowl cakes), and Petit Fours (almond tuiles, operas, mini tarts).

Before you know it you’ll be liberated from the tyranny of the cuppie.

Just try not to get trapped by the Napoleon.
