Parc Place

Cafe du Parc

Finding the big things (good job, swanky apartment, perfect mate) is tough. But the small stuff (decent parking space, good coffee, affordable meals) seems darn near impossible.

That’s all about to change today, when Cafe du Parc opens. The charming and convenient new spot from chef Antoine Westermann is a traditional French bistro, wine bar, and patisserie all in one.

Pop in for coffee and homemade brioche on your walk to work (they open at 6 a.m.). Pick up a fresh salad nicoise and tartine du jour for lunch. Or grab a baguette, house-made eclairs, or a chocolate tart on your way home.

Of course, you can linger at the wine bar or sample the full bistro menu in the elegant, sunny dining room or on the outdoor patio. One tiny bite of the bouchée à la reine or cocotte de légumes braisés is all you need to size things up.

And get on to bigger things.

Cafe du Parc, 1401 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, between 14th and 15th Streets (202-942-7000).
