Sangaree Opens

Google the word sangaree. The results suggest that it’s either a wine and fruit cocktail or a 1953 movie about an indentured servant rising to power after the Revolutionary War.

What the results don’t show is that it’s also the name of a brand new boutique opened on M Street.

The airy and spacious shop has a good mix of international and domestic labels. Check out ladylike dresses by Aussie Lisa Ho, casual pieces from the Danish Benedikte Utzon, and British Palmer-Jones’s classic-with-a-twist dresses and suits.

They’ve also got plenty of accessories, like bags from Matt & Nat and jewelry from local bauble designer Julie LoRusso.

The inventory is upscale, and they strive to offer impeccable service.

Which sure beats trying to find what you’re looking for online.

Sangaree, 3288 M Street NW, between 33rd and Potomac Streets (202-333-4690).
