High Voltage

Volt Restaurant Opens

Lukewarm, plain, and bland no more. Taste buds are staging a revolt.

Or rather, they are writing a memo Re: Volt.

Volt, a restaurant housed in a 19th-century brownstone mansion, features three dining concepts throughout the first floor. A sleek bar serves a lounge menu and innovative drinks (watermelon consommé martini, pisco sour over cotton candy).

The dining area is broken into an a la carte room and an intimate dining space, where chef Bryan Voltaggio can interact with patrons.

The menu incorporates seasonal flavors, relying on supplies from local farmers to inspire each night’s dishes, like heirloom tomatoes prepared three ways and lamb with a succotash of summer vegetables.

Now bolt on up there.

Volt, 228 North Market Street, Frederick (301-696-8658 or voltrestaurant.com).
