Oh, the terrors of teething. Soothe their discomfort by baking biscuits they can mouth off about.
Teething Biscuits
Makes about a dozen
Ingredients
½ c. oil
2 egg yolks
2 mashed bananas
½ c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. flax seed meal (optional)
1. Preheat oven to 325º.
2. In a large bowl, combine oil, egg yolks, and bananas.
3. In a separate bowl, sift together dry ingredients.
4. Add to banana mixture. (If batter is too dry, add water by the teaspoon until it’s easy to work with.)
5. Divide dough and form by hand into two-inch-long pieces.
6. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 30 minutes.
7. Lower temperature to 150º and bake for an additional 45 minutes.
Now there’s something they can sink their teeth into.
