Cheese Louise

La Fromagerie Cheese Shop Opens

Mom lays it on thick, your IT guy’s a real whiz, and that dude down the hall has some serious balls.

Cheese is a big part of your life.

La Fromagerie encourages those cultured inclinations with an array of artisanal cheeses, primarily from the Mid-Atlantic region, dispelling rumors that the good stuff comes from Europe.

Channel England with cave-aged cheddar from Chapel’s Country Creamery, or haul out the baguette for some luscious Camembert from Georgia’s Sweet Grass Dairy.

Sampling is a necessity, so arrive with an appetite or sit in back and pair wines with the cheese once the liquor license comes through.

There’s also plenty of charcuterie sourced from top spots like Edwards Farms and La Quercia.

Make it a meal with Trickling Springs Creamery products, fresh pasta, and accoutrements.

Then hit the road, Jack.

La Fromagerie, 1222 King Street, Alexandria ( 703-879-2467 or lafromagerieonline.com).
