Get Ridge of It

Blue Ridge Restaurant Opens

Under a shining yellow sun, across from a grassy green park, is a cream-colored restaurant called Blue Ridge.

Starting today, the farmhouse-inspired two-story Southern and mid-Atlantic resto is bringing new color to Glover Park.

Cozy into a reclaimed church pew in the main dining room decorated in bright patchwork Amish quilts. Chef Barton Seaver’s menu showcases seasonal and sustainable ingredients from small-scale purveyors. Tuck into shellfish stew in ham broth, a green tomato BLT, and a trout Caesar salad.

The bar and upstairs lounge and deck serve house-made punches and classic cocktails with finger foods. Laze around on the spacious back patio for Sunday brunch with bluegrass, buckets of beer, and fresh donuts.

That should color you happy.

Blue Ridge, 2340 Wisconsin Avenue NW, between Calvert and W Streets (202-333-4004).
