Steep Inclination

Zen Tara Tea Shop Opens

zen tara tea shop!

Feeling bitter and about to boil over?

You’ve oversteeped your boundaries.

Good thing Zen Tara Tea is now open. The former Montgomery Farm Women’s Cooperative Market stand has expanded into a bright, homey tea shop and cafe.

Thai native Methee Thavornvongkajorn and co-owner Guy Munsch travel to Thailand, Vietnam, and China collecting more than 100 oolongs, greens, and other steepable leaves — nearly all of which are organic and fair trade. They also create custom blends using dried fruit, spices, and flavorings (green ginger, black and cream with chocolate chips).

Former market neighbors Chesapeake Catering and Chef Karen make fresh salads, breakfast pastries, pies, and fruit tarts. Local Mayorga coffee, too.

Sign up for tastings and learn the art behind steeping a perfect pot in the charming tea-blending room.

No more cruising for a brewing.
