Tickle Me Emo
“Pancake Mountain” Screening

’Twas not so long ago that you could be found rocking out to your favorite band, head a-bangin’, beer in hand.
Nowadays, you’re more likely to be overheard humming bits from Baby Einstein while sneaking chugs of apple juice from your kid’s sippy cup.
Get back some street cred at the Pancake Mountain screening at the Warehouse Theater. The series, created by local filmmaker Scott Stuckey, is like an updated Schoolhouse Rock, geared toward kids but featuring performances by musicians like Ian MacKaye and Amy Farina (“Vowel Movement”), Scissor Sister, Henry Rollins, and George Clinton.
The just-released DVD, which will be screened tonight, features Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Billy Idol, Shonen Knife, Widespread Panic, Weird War, and others. The perfect place for the kids to have some fun while you mingle with the old crowd.
Try doing that during an episode of Teletubbies.
Screening at 7:30 & 9:30 p.m. Warehouse Theater, 1017 7th Street NW, between New York Avenue and L Street (202-783-3933 or warehousetheater.com). Tickets online at pancakemountain.com.
